"No Girl Should Be Left Out"
Our campaigns stretch to many districts in Uganda. There are so many girls missing or dropping out of school due to lack of sanitary pads. Some of these girls are orphans and have nobody to stand in the gap. That is why we call upon well wishers to donate sanitary pads so that we can support the less advantaged girls to stay in school. In 2019 we organised a drive to a Bihanga primary school in Hoima district where we were able to support 80 girls in Bunyoro with sanitary pads, books and clothes from the fundraising proceeds. We encouraged the teachers to have open discussions with the girls to end the stigma. The girls were over joyed with the gifts and promised to focus on their education and stay in school.
"Change A Life Today"
Women and girls continue to struggle to make ends meet amidst the covid19 pandemic but their periods still come as they used to before the pandemic. The economic impact of COVID19 forces women and girls to prioritize other basic needs over safe menstrual products. Its very important to make menstrual products more affordable so that women and girls can manage their periods with dignity.
Last donation 1w agoIn rural Schools, many girls miss school due to lack of sanitary pads. Some even lack access to knickers and as a result they tend to miss school when they are in their periods so that they are not humiliated and embarrassed by boys. This affects their general performance in school and many times forces them to drop out of school. This means that they can not be in position to fulfill their dreams in life.
Last donation 1w agoOur campaigns to end menstrual stigma focuses on availing the most needy girls with sanitary pads so that they can attend school everyday of the term just like the boys do. We do our best to encourage girls to embrace them as part of life. Involving men and boys has helped in ending stigma and educating the boys that menstruation is normal and natural without with they would not be in this world.
Last donation 1w agoWe appreciate you all for not only going out of your way to support the less advantaged girls in rural Uganda with sanitary pads and knickers but also inspiring them to look at the brighter side of life. There is no situation that is permanent. It takes hard work, dedication to achieve their dreams and aspirations. Together we are much stronger for the well being of the less advantaged girls in Uganda.
